Know the Dress Code

If you’ve never been, you might be unaware of the Royal Ascot dress code. They’re pretty tight on what you can and can’t wear and if you don’t follow the rules we’re afraid you won’t be let in. Different enclosures have different guidelines, so make sure you check them out. If you’ve attended before, you might be interested to hear that this year marks a slight change in the rules, with full-length jumpsuits now allowed in the Royal Enclosure.

Race Times

Planning your day is key to making sure you don’t miss anything out. Before you go, you should have a good idea of what you want to do and when, so take a look at the race times that are up on the Ascot website. It’ll make things a lot easier if you’re organised!

Never leave your travel arrangements until the day of the races. At Top Flight Helicopters, we suggest booking in for our Helicopter hire to Ascot as soon as you get your tickets to ensure you don’t miss out. It’s a busy time of year for our helicopter hire to Ascot, as you can imagine!

Betting Tips

If you want to make successful bets on the day of the races, it pays to do your research in advance. If you’re a complete novice, take a look at Ascot’s own guide to placing bets and a bit of information on the betting format. If you want to check out the odds on the horses and learn from the experienced betters, Betting Directory have partnered with racing presenter and betting pundit Tom Lee to give you all the knowledge you’ll need.

Buy a Race Card

Even with preparation, we still advise on purchasing a race card. They’re sold around the site and give you all the information you need to know about the races, horses, jockeys and everything else. They’re incredibly useful!

Be Prepared for the Weather

Royal Ascot is in the UK so there’s always going to be a high chance of rain. Check the weather in the days running up to the races and, if things are looking doubtful, make sure you have the appropriate gear. Bring an umbrella and something to wrap up in if things get a little chilly. If you’re using our helicopter hire to Ascot we recommend checking 24 hours before the flight to ensure weather conditions won’t affect your journey, just in case!
